Ma Nolans, in Nice's Old Town, is a fairly recent and welcome addition to Nice's nightlife. An Irish bar, run by an Irishman and with mostly Irish staff it exudes that certain 'je ne sais pas' that defines an Irish bar. It is more than just a poor replica. It's usually crowded, noisy and great 'craic'.

Wayne's Bar is probably the most well known bar in Nice. With live music, great for a wild night out.

Thor is Nice's very own Scandinavian bar, just what you expect in a French town. It is located in the Coeur Saleya and is also a live music venue. There is a great outdoor seating area, from which to watch the world go by, or an indoor bar and upstairs live music. It gets very lively and is especially busy during the summer months.

An international bar with a hint of Irish pub about it. Decidedly French though with a nice terrace for people watching, although the view is not up to much. Good

Great little wine bar buried in the grandest back streets Nice has to offer. Surrounded by incredible architecture you can repose on the street in impressive surroundings and sip on a glass of vin and it doesn't HAVE to be French. A small wine list that offers world wines as well as local and at good prices. Tapas and apéro snacks available also.

The Distillerie Ideal in the Old Town of Nice is a beautiful old bar. Obviously once a distillerie the old machinery is still on view and it would seem that the decor has remained unchanged since the early 1900's. It is in the grand style of the Belle Epoch era with decorative walls and an unquestionable charm, the same may not always be said of the serving staff.

Located at the top of Nice's famous flower market this bar also serves good lunchtime food. It is probably one of the best places in Nice to sit and sip and people watch. If they are in Nice, then they are probably going to walk past this bar. It's crowded in summer and hard to get a table but its worth the wait.

Elegant restaurant and lounge bar in the centre of Nice. Modern, stylish and funky. Food is typical for Nice with meat, pasta and risotto dishes but with the ubiquitous Asian sushi influence in the fish dishes. good presentation and convivial ambiance.

Cafe bar, serves food.

The Cours Saleya is the name of the flower market that it the heart of Nice's old town. Lined with restaurants, bars and shops it is an unmissable part of Nice. Wonderful for people watching, catching the afternoon sun, dining or having an aperitif. A flower market by day, it also has an antique, or 'brocante' on Mondays and fruit and vegetables over the weekends. Vibrant, lively, local, the heart of Nice.

Castel is a beach bar and restaurant situated right on the beach front of Nice's Promenade des Anglais. Tucked into the corner of the Quai des Etats-Unis it has the best view over the Mediterranean than any of the other beach bars. The slight elevation and corner aspect give it the advantage and its a great place for a sundowner. The staff are not particularly efficient or friendly but, persevere.

Cafe de Nissa is to be found just beside Nice's famous shopping mecca Le Galeries Lafayette. It is large, bright and cheerful inside with an interesting array of bizarre decor on the walls. The food is good and the staff are charming, a good stop off during or after a shopping expedition.

This bar is situated immediately opposite Nice's famous Opera House so it is ideally situated for a pre and post Opera aperitif or digestif. Not particularly pretty it still has a feeling of being an authentic French bar. The long bar, the old waiter, the smoking regulars and a glass of wine that is actually drinkable and reasonably priced.

The Beau Rivage is actually a hotel in the Old Town of Nice. The decor is modern and elegant. The bar is minimalist and quiet which makes it a nice choice for a pre dinner drink or if you like to hear yourself speak while sipping your drink.

Very pleasant modern restaurant in Nice that has been revitalised thanks to the new look Place Massena and the tram works. It's terrace now takes in the fantastic fountain. Food is good, a sort of modern Mediterranean fusion of salads, burgers and seafood with a hint of Asian influence. Good for lunch, early evening apero's and a nice chilled vibe in the evenings. Service is untypicaly friendly and professional.

Bar Le Relais is the bar in Nice's famous landmark hotel the Negressco. Laid out in the style of an old English gentlemens club it may not be the style of watering hole that you are looking for in the South of France but it is a nod to the role the English have played in the history of the seaside town. The famous hotel itself is always worth a look.

Bar Antoine is in the heart of Old Nice. It is on a street that has sprung forth several new bars but Bar Antoine can lay claim to being an original and French. Although recently renovated it retains authentic charm and provides an outdoor seating area for watching the world go by.
