A little corner of paradise in the heart of the city of Nice, this stylish, contemporary 2-bedroom apartment is a superb option for a holiday in this dynamic city in the South of France. Sleeping 4 comfortably and with a very spacious terrace, the property is situated just a 5-minute stroll from the vibrant Old Town and Nice’s main shopping streets and less than a 10-minute walk from the city’s famous seafront and beaches.

The interior décor of the property is modern and bright, finished with light tones and contemporary furnishings. The open-plan living area uses the space cleverly with a dining/living area in the form of a sofa and two armchairs set on either side of a sturdy light wood table which doubles both as a dining area for enjoying cosy holiday meals as well as a lounge area for settling in for a morning coffee or a nice aperitif in the evening. The living area also has a flat screen TV with English news channels, a DVD player and a HiFi stereo for relaxing nights in.

Just opposite the seating area, a compact, yet fully equipped kitchen has all necessary modern appliances for preparing great meals. A four-burner stove, grill/oven and a washing machine among other essential cooking equipment make it a convenient feature of the apartment.

Both of the bedrooms are double rooms with comfortable beds and are equipped with closets and drawers for storage. They are both air-conditioned for added comfort on summer nights and the beds are made with high-quality Egyptian cotton linens.

The first is a master bedroom which benefits from plenty of light from both a French window and also French doors leading out to the terrace. The décor is simple and chic and there is also an armchair and bedside tables. This bedroom is accessed by floor-to-ceiling panelled doors leading out from the living area. The second bedroom, also just off the living area, has plenty of light from large French doors and is similarly decorated with taste and simplicity.

The bathroom of the property is narrow but nevertheless has a shower, WC and a mirrored vanity shelf over the sink. It is finished with modern fittings and white-tiled walls.

Accessible from the master bedroom as well as from the living room through large French doors, the apartment’s impressive terrace is a rare find in central Nice. Relatively unobstructed by surrounding buildings, the outdoor space enjoys floods of sunshine and is equipped accordingly as with Nice’s long summer season, a terrace like this essentially becomes the living room. In the case of this apartment, the terrace in fact has three separate seating areas. The first is a lounge area with seating for four in the form of comfortable outdoor chairs and a coffee table where guests can enjoy balmy evenings over a glass of rosé wine.

Just beside the lounge area, a table and chairs for four creates a perfect setting for al fresco dinners or for making the most of the morning sunshine over fresh croissants. Finally, two sun beds are provided alongside the lounge area to top up on tans in the privacy and comfort of the apartment. A parasol and a large triangular sail-shade also provide shade if the Riviera sun gets to be too much.

This property is located in the centre of Nice, just 10 minutes from the train station, the bustling Old Town and the city’s famous pebbled beaches and lively Promenade des Anglais. It also benefits from many shops and services within a 2-minute walk of the property.

Nice, the capital of the Côte d’Azur, is the most dynamic and lively of the Riviera’s seafront locations. Loaded with culture, museums and an events calendar that is just as busy in the winter as it is in the summer, it is much more than just a beach town. The historic Old Town is a maze of narrow streets filled with quaint shops, superb restaurants and lively café terraces and bars. Wandering through the colourful cobbled streets, it is not difficult to see why it has been a haven for artists and photographers for decades, and many small independent galleries and workshops in the Old Town show evidence of this.

Running parallel to the seafront but still within the old quarter, the broad strip of the Cours Saleya is a long market area where all manner of local foods and flowers are on offer in the mornings, with antiques being order of the day on Mondays. These markets transform into handcrafts and souvenir stalls every evening during the summer season, and all throughout the year, the Cours Saleya is home to an abundance of restaurants and bars with large terraces which buzz with the fantastic Mediterranean atmosphere.

Through the arches of the Cours Saleya, the miles of beaches for which Nice is so famous offer sunbathing space in the summer and spectacular views of the glistening azure-blue sea all year round.

One of the most popular spots in Nice is also the recently renovated Place Garibaldi, a large, typically European square with excellent bars and restaurants which offer great value cocktails and a lively atmosphere. The square is situated a 10-minute walk from the apartment and is a perfect place for grabbing an aperitif before heading to the charming port area for some great seafood and beautiful views of the array of colourful boats and the towering ‘Colline du Château’, the hilltop site of the first Niçois settlers.

The property also benefits from first-rate public transport links. Since parking spaces in central Nice can be hard to come by, it is lucky that the region’s public transport is both excellent and reasonably priced. Within a 5-minute walk of the property, buses run regularly to both the international airport as well as legendary Riviera destinations such as Cannes, Monaco, Menton and Antibes, all well within an hour’s drive.
