Superb two bedroom apartment in a fabulous position between the Negresco and Sheraton hotels, on the famous Promenade des Anglais. the apartment was redecorated and furnished in late 2008. Accessed through private gardens on the Promenade or from Rue Andrioli, this is one of the best known Art Deco residences in Nice.
A lift serves this fifth floor apartment. On entering the hall, there is a sense of space and light because of the high ceilings and large windows. The spacious living/dining area opens onto the large terrace with large corner French windows making it an extension of the living space.
The kitchen is equipped with a cooker, fridge/freezer, dish washer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and all utensils should you decide to eat in! There is dining seating for six. For entertainment there is Multi channel TV, radio, and a dvd player (bring your favourites). On the terrace there is seating for six so you can enjoy 'al fresco' dining or just watching the world go by.
There are two bedrooms: the main bedroom has a double bed and two bedside tables and lamps. Full height French windows lead on to the terrace. The second bedroom also has feature French doors leading to the terrace and has two single beds which can be made to form a double, if required. Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes and there is further storage space in the hall.
The shutters allow for a gentle Mediterranean breeze to keep the apartment cool, although Nice does not suffer the extremes of temperature experienced elsewhere (summer temperatures rarely exceed 30C. The bathroom is beautifully fitted in pink marble and has a shower, wc, whb and wc.
There is a utility room with washing machine. A hair dryer, iron and ironing board are supplied.
The location is second to none. The Promenade is the place to be be and here you will be a stone's throw from the world famous Negresco hotel.
The supermarket is less than five minutes away as are all conveniences. There is a top class restaurant on the corner and another 2699 restaurants to sample in Nice! A car is not necessary. The pedestrianised zone is a short stroll away.
The Old Town (Vieux Nice) is within easy walking distance as is the Port and Le Chateau (the big hill at the end!). For travelling further afield, it's back onto the Promenade to the bus stop and the buses take you to Cannes, Antibes, Vence etc etc, and all for €1. The train station is within walking distance or you could take the 23 bus (yes €1) as far as the Railway station (Gare SNCF). From here you can head to Ventimglia in Italy, Monaco, Eze, Beaulieu, Cannes, Antibes etc, etc..
Other activities - Skiing or golf? Nice is a perfect base for winter sports and particularly skiing. The resorts of Auron, Isola 2000 and Valberg/Beuil are about an hours drive from the centre of Nice. But why drive when you can take a bus from the Bus Station (Gare Routiere) to the ski slopes (see the directory link at bottom for more info). You can ski during the day and lie on the beach in the afternoon. If golf is your passion there are many fine golf courses around Nice.
There are even two courses dating back to the 19th century - Cannes Mandelieu (1891) and Valescure (1895).
