This property lies in the heart of the Old Town, otherwise known as Vieux Nice. It is situated on the main street of the area, Rue de la Préfecture, which has an array of bars and restaurants that create a lively atmosphere both day and night. The apartment is also conveniently situated just a minute's walk from both the vibrant Cours Saleya market strip as well the beaches and waterfront restaurants along the Promenade des Anglais.

The apartment is located on the fourth floor of a typical Niçois building and its height allows for a beautiful breeze to pass through the French windows making it a comfortable, fresh space in the summertime. Please note that like many of the traditional buildings in the Old Town, this building does not provide a lift so it may not be suitable or those who have difficulty with stairs. However once at the top, this apartment provides lovely views of the colourful neighbouring buildings, full of Provençal charm.

Upon entering the apartment, guests will find a cosy open-plan living room decorated in muted colours and comfortable furnishings that create a tranquil escape from the exciting bustle below. Two French windows let in natural light and guests can relax on the comfy sofa and armchair. The sofa also opens up to become a double sofa bed allowing the apartment to accommodate up to four guests. The living room also provides an LCD TV with French channels and there is a DVD player and selection of DVDs for cosy nights in.

Within the open-plan living room is also a lovely dining area that can seat four guests at an elegant glass table. A free-standing fan is also provided in the room to cool the space during the summer months.

The kitchen is equipped with everything guests will need for home cooked meals. With the Cours Saleya market just seconds from the apartment, guests can enjoy cooking with delicious, fresh local produce. The kitchen is part of the open-plan living room and is separated by an oak breakfast bar that serves as a great space for a casual meal or chatting with friends while making dinner. The kitchen includes modern appliances such as an oven, hob, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is also a kettle, toaster and cafetière for a quick breakfast before heading out for the day.

The bedroom is a very comfortable and homely space. There is a king size wrought iron bed and classic furniture that give the room an elegant feel. The neutral décor makes the room perfect for a peaceful nights sleep, and the bedroom also benefits from a modern en-suite bathroom with a full-size bath and overhead shower. There is also a heated towel rail, basin and WC.

This property is contemporary but still has plenty of traditional charm and its fantastic location and comfortable features make it a great base for exploring the delights of the Riviera.

There are endless cafés where guests can relax in the morning or afternoon sun. Morning coffee in the square of Palais de Justice and an afternoon ice cream in the historical Place Rossetti is the perfect way to soak up the Niçois atmosphere.

Vieux Nice is a hive of activity and the Cours Saleya is the best place to see this. This street is just seconds from the property and is lined with restaurants and bars. The terraces spill out into the street making it a vibrant area and there is a daily flower market and a morning food market full of the sights and smells of the region. Here guests can discover local Mediterranean produce and truly indulge in a little Niçois tradition.

There is also a weekly antiques market on Mondays that is full of fascinating stalls of furniture, jewellery, linens and art, and during the summer months there is even a night market full of local crafts. Guests also have easy access to the sea through the arches of the Cours Saleya that lead onto the beautiful bay of Nice with its long stretch of pebble beaches.

Outside of the Old Town is a very different side of Nice. This contrast of areas is what pulls people to Nice year after year as there is always plenty to discover. The city has a variety of quarters each with their own individual appeal. The Carré d’Or district is full of fabulous shopping, the Musicians quarter has impressive architecture, and the Promenade des Anglais offers spectacular sea views. Wherever you wander to in the city of Nice, there is always a different atmosphere to experience.

Excellent transport links in the city also allow guests to enjoy other surrounding towns such as Monaco, Cannes, Antibes and the historical village of Villefranche-sur-Mer.
