Le Grand Gîte

This large cottage boasts two spacious double bedrooms as well as a fully equipped kitchen and furnished outdoor seating/dining area. With easy access to features such as a boules pitch, table-tennis table and a shared swimming pool surrounded by the breathtaking landscape, the property is an ideal place for a tranquil stay amidst the natural beauty of the south of France.

The outdoor area of this cottage, equipped with a dining table and chairs, is a charming setting to enjoy al fresco meals while taking in the beautiful setting of the property. On entering through the impressive vines which surround the doorway, the natural feel of the décor creates a continuity with its exteriors.

For preparing holiday meals, a small yet practical kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge-freezer and dishwasher as well as gas burners, an oven and a microwave. The kitchen also has a washing machine and has a door which leads directly outside. While the décor maintains the rustic feel, the appliances are modern and the room is well lit with contemporary fittings.

For cooler days and nights, there is a indoor dining area with a table and chairs to comfortably seat four people, situated in the main area of the cottage. Although there is no indoor lounge area, the dining area still serves as a pleasant space for entertaining.

The first double bedroom is a spacious room with a large double bed and the décor tastefully blends the original stonework wall with modern comfort and ambient lighting. The exposed roof beams throughout both the bedrooms add to the charm of the interior and give the rooms a warm and cosy atmosphere. The second bedroom, just off the dining area, also has a double bed and benefits from a simple en-suite shower room.

The en-suite shower room has a shower, basin and WC and the main bathroom is fitted with a bath, basin and WC.

The cottage benefits from being refreshingly cool throughout the hot summer season while also being a cosy choice for the cooler winter months. It also has easy access to the adjoining cottages ‘Le Petit Gite’ and ‘Gite de la Bergerie’, convenient for groups of friends but also allowing independence within each cottage for smaller groups, couples or families.

For lovers of nature or simply for those in search of a slice of tranquillity with a French country feel, this attractive two-bedroom cottage has a lovely mix of comfort and authentic rural charm. For those who wish to explore the region further or have easy access to and from the property, a car is recommended and parking on site is available.

Set slightly inland in the Provence region of the Var, this property is situated in the tranquil commune of Les Mayons, known for its natural beauty and quaint village scenery. With rolling, green landscape all around and the charming typical Provencal village of Les Mayons a few kilometres from the cottage, visitors can enjoy the quieter side of Riviera living.

A nature lovers’ paradise, the property is set amidst all manner of natural delights. From vineyards and olive groves to secluded lakes and streams, visitors can get lost in all that the countryside has to offer just by stepping out of their front door.

Another advantage of its setting is that one does not have to venture far for some outstanding fresh food produce. Honeys and jams are a speciality, while it goes without saying that wine-lovers will be spoilt for choice as a selection of wine producers have their domains within a short distance of the property.

The Tuilère des Anges is also less than an hour drive from the legendary seaside town of Saint Tropez. Made famous by Brigitte Bardot and subsequent jet-setters and sun-worshippers, the once quiet fishing village is now a playground for the rich and famous. However, St. Trop’ still manages to maintain the quaint charm that was its initial attraction in the 1960s, especially in winter as the crowds thin out.

For a pleasant surprise, neighbouring Sainte Maxime, just to the east of Saint Tropez, offers visitors another option for daytrips. Here, lively beaches and a port area with restaurants and cafés can entertain visitors both day and night. With a larger population and size to the more famous Saint Tropez, the town has all that guests of Tuilère des Anges should need from shops and eateries to cinemas and golf courses.
