Salon du Chocolat 2013

Held in the legendary Palais des Festivals, chocolate experts from around the world mingle with cocoa lovers and amateur and professional choclatiers in a 3 day event that celebrates the very existence of chocolate in all its forms. From the hourly ‘Cacao Show’ which adds a theatrical and musical touch to learning about chocolate from around the world, to the numerous chocolate workshops and classes which take place over the 3 days, the event really does cover just about all you would hope for in such an event.

The Palais des Festivals is located right on the famous ‘Croisette’ seafront in Cannes, a few metres from the sandy beaches and just a short walk from the centre of town and the old port. It is a stunning venue which is most famous for host the Cannes Film Festival every May, but this is a great chance to see it in slightly less hectic circumstances. That said, the event does attract a substantial amount of visitors, so line-ups are commonplace, but waiting times generally aren’t too long. Once inside, one can wander freely to most areas of the exhibition however reservations are recommended for any workshops or classes as they can fill up quickly.
