 The countdown has started to Mipcom 2013, held annually at the Palais des Festival in Cannes. Doors open on the 7th October and proceedings will conclude on 10th October. There are still two days left of registration if you have not signed up to participate yet.
Cannes stages this global platform for the worlds entertainment content providers annually with conferences, keynote speakers and screenings. It is an exciting time when new ideas, formats and methods of delivery are shaking the industry up. This is the place where those ideas are shaped and introduced and the deals are struck.
2013 will see a world première of TV crime drama The Tunnel which features a cross border murder between France and the UK. Screenings are shown to a specially selected audience of international buyers.
The country of honour will be Argentina and the event will show screenings of Argentinian home grown programmes that have not been seen internationally.
Keynote speakers at the 2013 events will include; Roma Khanna, President, Television Group and Digital Of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Roy Price, Director, Amazon Studios, Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO, Fremantlemedia and Dan Rose, Vice President of Partnerships, Facebook.
Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of Dreamworks Animation has been chosen as personality of the Year and will be honoured with an award during a gala dinner on Wednesday 9th October.
