The closest international airport to Mougins is Nice Cote d'Azur with daily flights from every corner of the world. The airport sees more than 9 million passengers pass through its doors each year and has flights arriving from the United States, the Middle East and all over Europe.
There is a small airport at Cannes but this is primarily for private charters, business travellers and helicopter transfers.
Mougins is off the A8 motorway that runs parallel to the coast between Toulon and the Italian border. Exit at junction 42 for Mougins and is a matter of minutes to drive from the exit, traffic permitting.
Getting around the French Riviera is usually an easy exercise as it is well serviced by rail and bus networks and more recently the new tramway in Nice which should soon be extended to include a link to the airport.
However the main routes of transport operate along the coast and it can become more difficult to get around once you are trying to get inland.
Mougins by carGetting to Mougins by car is the easiest and best mode of transport, there is no better way to say it. The village is split over different areas with the old village nestled in the centre and mostly a pedestrian zone while Haut Mougins is a drive away and, as the name suggests, up a steep hill.

Mougins by TaxiIf you decide not to hire a car or are not driving yourself then there is the option to take a Taxi. Nicoise Taxi's are rather infamous for all the wrong reasons and you can expect to pay between €70 and €80 to get to Mougins from Nice airport.
Once you are in your holiday rental in Mougins then you will find local Taxi services for the area. You can also look on line and find limousine services if you are not planning to drive yourself.

Riviera busesFrench Riviera bus services are very good. The buses run regularly, they are clean, they are perhaps more reliable than trains, they are certainly more regular and they are undoubtedly cheap with all fares standardised into a single €1 tarif.
The bus stops are clearly signed and numbered with the route numbers, you can get free timetables from tourist offices and they usually take the most scenic routes, although that also makes them slower.
All in all it is an excellent service with just one small problem. Finding out who the bus operator is and finding a map of all the routes. The bus service is a very local one, so to that end it helps if you are a local to understand it.
The problem, as a tourist, is that there are multiple bus services operated by multiple bus companies. In Nice, for example, it is Ligne d'Azur, in Cannes it is Bus Azur while in Mougins the bus routes fall under the operative of Sillages and finding out how to get from Nice to Grasse for instance can be a tricky affair. The best option is to head straight for the nearest tourist information office and pick up all the timetables that you can.

| Mougins by busIf you are arriving into Nice airport then you can take a bus from outside the terminals to Cannes. Once in Cannes you can get off at the train station stop and look for the number 2 ligne to Le Cannet.
Get off at the stop called 'Blanchisserie'. You are then looking for the number 25 Line which is the route for Mougins Village. If you are looking for Haut Mougin then you will need line 24, which goes from Cannes main bus terminus. |

Rail links to MouginsThe closest rail link to Mougins is Cannes. There are no rail routes near the village or Haut Mougins and the only options for access are by car, by bus or by taxi. The rail way runs parallel to the coast and runs from East to West along the French Riviera coast. Mougins is north of Cannes, inland and in the surrounding foothills overlooking the Bay of Cannes.
