From the airport you will have to take a bus to Nice Gare Routiére to make the connection with the Beaulieu bus. The bus is the number 100, departing every 20mins and is on the Nice-Menton route. Journey times should take a maximum of 30 minutes, inclusive.

Beaulieu-sur-mer by road

Beaulieu-sur-mer is not the most accessible of places by road as there is no direct motorway exit. This is because the mountains sweep in close to the coast and the motorway is forced behind them.

This has the advantage of protecting a very beautiful area but it can be an inconvenience if you are in a hurry, an inconvenience that is worth it for the preservation. There are still two main roads that access the town, the Moyenne Corniche and the Basses Corniche.

The Basse Corniche road strings the coastal towns and villages together, France
Take the high road

The Moyenne Corniche is marginally quicker if you are in a hurry as it by passes Villefranche main street and is still a very beautiful drive

Driving to Beaulieu-sur-mer

From the direction of Nice you can follow signs for the Basse Corniche which will take you along the Promenade des Anglais, around Nice port and out through Villefranche-sur-Mer. It is a beautiful drive but the traffic can be heavy especially at peak times. The best advice it to try and plan your journeys outside peak commuter times and to allow plenty of time.

An alternative route is to follow signs from Nice port out to the Moyenne Corniche which is signposted for Monaco. This will allow you to by pass Villefranche somewhat and will drop you down into Beaulieu-sur-Mer near the marina in the centre of town.

From the A8 motorway you will have to either exit for Nice Promenade des Anglais, junction 50 and wind your way through Nice or you can bypass Nice entirely and stay on the motorway until junction 57 which is signposted for La Turbie. From here you can turn right, before the village on the Nice side, onto the Grande Corniche and drop down onto the Moyenne Corniche and follow the roads through Eze and down into Beaulieu.

Waiting for the train on the Cote d'Azur, France

Beaulieu-sur-mer by train

The train line follows the coastline from East to West and stops at each town and village along the way. The main train station for all connections is Nice Ville.

Trains leave every twenty minutes and the journey takes about 8 to 10 minutes. Fares only cost a few Euro but they are more expensive than the buses. It's a great train journey if you stay on for the full duration and you get a good idea of the locality and where else you might like to visit during your holiday.
