Villa Berre les Alpes

Set in the hills above Nice and close to the Mercantour National Park, this traditional-style villa has beautiful views over the surrounding countryside creating an extremely tranquil holiday property. Enjoy the scent of pines and mimosas and a beautiful vista of olive and chestnut trees.

This 3-bedroom property can sleep up to 6 guests and has fabulous outside space. The villa has a great swimming pool and a large garden which only feels more spacious with the far-reaching views. The garden is another living space as there is a pretty shaded area, set up for alfresco dining and there is relaxing furniture around the pool. There is also a summer kitchen with a BBQ, ideal for relaxed lunches on the terrace. This property also has parking making the rest of the Riviera more accessible.

The villa has been finished to a high standard with many traditional features and fits nicely into the countryside with its charming window shutters and interior woodwork. This is best demonstrated within the open-plan living space as there are cosy features such as exposed wooden beams and a feature fireplace. This room is a slightly elevated lounge area with a comfortable sofa and a flat screen TV, and the villa is equipped with WiFi. There is also direct access to the terrace from this room giving the space continuity with the garden. Within this open-plan space there is also a dining area that has lots of natural light and traditional Provençal touches.

The kitchen is a good size and also has a small breakfast area. There is plenty of worktop space and also a door to the garden. It is finished in a traditional style and is well equipped with modern appliances including an oven, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher for added convenience.

This villa has three bedrooms, all on the 1st floor. The first two bedrooms are furnished with double beds and have a simple, homely décor. They also have a traditional feel to them in keeping with the rest of the property. The third bedroom is a very charming room with twin beds. It is a light room with homely touches and tasteful styling. Also on the 1st floor is the family bathroom. This is a tiled, well-appointed bathroom fitted with a bath, shower attachment and a large basin unit with a storage cabinet. There is also a second bathroom with a shower and a toilet on the ground floor.

This property is great for a group or a family with its versatile sleeping arrangements, great outdoor space, swimming pool and outstanding views.

This country villa has a beautiful hillside location and is situated on a quiet rural road with stunning far-reaching views of the surrounding mountaintops. It is located in an area known as Berre-les-Alpes which is in the hills to the north behind Nice and Monaco and approximately 30km away from Nice Airport.

Berre Les Alpes itself is a charming and beautiful village with a very attractive square with a cafe under the plane trees and really dramatic scenery to the North up to the mountains and to the South over Nice and the Riviera. In early spring the area is very famous for its incredible yellow forests of Mimosa, and thousands of the sweet smelling yellow flowers are brought into Nice to splash colour all over the Carnival in February.

Nearby are the lovely must-visit villages of Coaraze, the sunniest village on the Riviera, and wonderful medieval l'Escarene, both are about 10 minutes drive.

The property is surrounded by miles and miles of woodland, which is perfect for country walks and for nature lovers to explore in the afternoon sun. Guests can enjoy a Provençal picnic within their garden or delve into the forest for an even more rustic alfresco dining experience.

The main nearby Riviera destinations are Nice and Monaco, which are around 20 km away and therefore ideal for a day trip. However, there is also the nearby village of Berre-les-Alpes where guests can continue to enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the Franco-Italian Alpes whilst taking in the historical features such as the Baroque-style church and castle remains.

The area offers plenty of choice for the more active holidaymakers such as hiking, mountain biking and tennis. There is also horse riding that is perfect for taking in the scenery. The village has local amenities such as bakeries, cafés and grocery stores and therefore guests don’t have to travel far to enjoy great local produce. For an action-packed afternoon, guests can book in a day of canyoning and aqua hiking in the nearby town of La Broc, only 15 km away.

Guests can also enjoy a hike in Mercantour and the Valley of Wonders, known in French as the Vallee Des Mervieilles. This national park is within an hour and a half driving distance of the property and guests can book guided mountain tours where they can learn about the surrounding environment and the beautiful hidden gems of this stunning natural landscape.

Although nestled in an idyllic countryside location, this villa only 25 minutes from the busier parts of the Riviera, allowing you to enjoy a variety of activities during your stay.
