Gîte de la Bergerie Features & Room Descriptions

Gîte de la Bergerie is located in a paradise for nature lovers. It is surrounded by rolling hills, forests and gentle streams with stunning views out over the countryside. There is a garden immediately surrounding the property with flowering plants and various tree varieties.

There is also a beautiful communal pool with a poolside terrace area, ideal for sunbathing. It is surrounded by high hedges and flowering plants offering seclusion in the heart of the countryside.

Gîte de la Bergerie is located near Les Mayons, a traditional village in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in the south of France. Nearby communes include Le Luc, Pignan and La Garde Freinet and the stylish town of St Tropez is just 30 km away by car.

Les Mayons has just one landmark, that of the Grandfather Chestnut Tree which is hundreds of years old, located in the centre of the village. There are many little streets leading from the village, ideal for taking a stroll, the most famous of which would be the Castel des Maures, leading through the pine, oak, cork and chestnut trees of Les Mayons. Local specialities include honey, jams, chestnuts and strawberries.

The living / dining area is both spacious and intimate. It has a stone tiled floor, traditional white walls, exposed roof beams and beautiful wooden furnishings. There is a dining table with seating for four guests which is located just beside the open-plan kitchen.

There are leafy, climbing plants running up the walls and along the exposed roof beams, bringing a little of the surrounding nature indoors. There is a ladder leading up to the mezzanine level where the bedroom is located.

The kitchen is open-plan and compact. There are green tiled surfaces, complimenting the climbing plants, and a natural stone feature wall. The kitchen is equipped with a sink, 4-hob gas stove, a fridge, coffee machine, overhead lighting and all tableware and kitchen utensils are provided.
